Choosing the right tracking profile
To get the most out of your tracker please find a good balance between security and power consumption. This means identifying the right tracking profile for your needs.
Please note that profile changes only happen the next time the tracker tracks and the tracker sleeps between tracks to save power for when it is needed. Tracking happens on a predefined schedule and/or motion activated as described in the tracking profiles on this page. Motion is detected as accelleration, not coordinates.
You can easily select the tracking profile by pressing the bottom middle button in the app.
Get position updates on a timer once a day.
The time of day depends on when the Daily tracking profile is activated on the tracker. The timer may drift over time but no more than 1 or 2 percent a day.
You cannot go wrong with Daily tracking and it is highly recommended for:
- Cars
- Bicycles
- Scooters
- Trailers
- Watercraft and Caravans (in use)
Battery life is up to 4 years, depending on temperature and signal conditions, with 1 track per day.
Get position updates an hour after the tracker stops moving - and once a week on a timer (that can be muted in the notification settings).
Parking is a good compromise between Daily and Parking for and great for tracking:
- Cars
- Scooters
- Trailers
- Off-road vehicles
Battery life is variable but will be up to 2 years if the trackers moves twice a day on average.
Sends a position when initially moved, every 15 minutes while moving and 15 minutes after being parked/stationary. It will also track once a week on a timer (that can be muted in the notification settings).
Live tracking is great for tracking objects that rarely move, such as :
- Caravans and mobile homes (not in use)
- Watercraft (on land)
- Veteran cars and motorcycles (not in use)
- (Unused) Furniture
Battery is variable, but can be long if what you are tracking moves less than an hour or two a week on average.
Get position updates every 10 minutes with a longer GPS modem timeout.
Can be used for short periods of time to quickly retrieve missing items on the move or indoors.
Battery life: 1-2 months.
Warning!
As the name indicates, this tracking profile is meant only for emergencies. This is because the tracker will track continuously every 10 minutes and use more time to try and find its position. This can potentially drain the batteries in a month or two if used continuously.
Get position updates on a timer once a week and/or when shaken hard.
Best suited for tracking low value items at low risk of going missing, or for periods when the tracker is not being used.
Battery life is very long if signal conditions are good and the tracker is at room temperature.
With Premium you can create variants of the standard tracking modes: Live, Parking and Time intervals. Tracking intervals, sensitivity and timeouts can easily be adjusted using sliders to customize a tracking profile to fit exactly your needs.
