Push & E-mail Notifications
In the notification settings you can opt in or out of receiving e-mail notifications and/or Push notifications, i.e. smartphone popup notifications. These can be activated or disabled for movement related and/or timer related events, inside/outside geofence zones and warnings.
Event triggered notifications
Events are something that happens which we can react to by, for example, triggering notifications. You can control movement activated and timer based tracking event notifications a trackers settings.
Movement
When a tracker is set to Live or Parking, you will receive notifications when the tracker moves or stops, unless you disable the notifications for movements.
Timer
If a tracker is tracking Daily or Weekly or some other timer, you will receive notifications every time the tracker tracks, unless you disable notifications for timers.
With Live or Parking active, the tracker will track once a week on a timer and notify you, unless you disable notifications for timers.
Geofence triggered notifications
A geofence is a predefined geographic area or zone where events can be triggered when crossing the fence or muted/activated by being inside or outside the geofence area.
Geofence(s) can be defined in the Geofence section in your trackers settings in the app. Notification settings apply to all geofences.
Crossing the Geofence
If a geofence is set and the Live tracking profile is active, you will get notifications when the tracker moves in and out of the geofence zone, unless you disable notifications for moving in and/or out of geofence zone(s).
For example, you may want to know when a tracker arrives at work but not necessarily when it leaves home. Or perhaps you want to know if the tracker moves outside the city it is normally in but not when it leaves home nor work.
In or outside the Geofence
You can choose to disable notifications when the tracker is inside and/or outside the geofence zone(s).
If your tracker is set to Daily, you may be more interested in whether the tracker is tracking outside geofence zone(s) such as your home address. Or perhaps you have a fleet of vehicles or machinery and equipment that are not supposed to leave a specific area, so you mute notifications for that area/zone but keep notifications on for outside the zone.
Warnings
Excessive tracking warnings
If your tracker is tracking at a rate that may drain the batteries quickly, you will get warning notifications unless you disable them. Perhaps you are trying to find a missing item and aware that it is power intensive to use the Emergency tracking profile. Then you can disable warning notifications. But please remember to turn them back on when the missing item is found.
No signal warnings
If your tracker is continuously unable to find its position, battery life can suffer. You will get warnings about this unless you disable them. You may want to disable these warnings if for example you are tracking a vehicle that is parked in a basement or other structure where GPS signals cannot get in. But you may want to adjust the GPS timeout in a customised tracking profile to avoid unnecessary power consumption.
