The main interface
This is where you see the map, our name "Copenhagen Trackers" and buttons such as account settings in the upper left corner and AI Assistant in the lower right corner. The Bell icon will light up whenever we post a story or have a good offer for you.
To register a new tracker, you need to press the (+) icon near the bottom of the main interface.
Your phone's current location is represented by smaller blue circle with no letter, icon or other icons around it, just as you know it from regular digital maps.
Track coordinates and your location
A track is represented by a colored oval pin shaped icon with a single letter or icon in it. The tracker icon at the bottom is similar but shaped as a circle. If you click on the tracker icon, either on the map or at the bottom, you will zoom to the track position and see an information board above the pin. This contains a timestamp, a link to google maps and signal and battery level estimate icons.
The timestamp tells you the day and time of the track, which means that the tracker found its location and sent it to you at this time.
The "route" icon will send you to track coordinates in Google maps where you can benefit from navigational features, street view and more.
The signal indicators reflect the time it took the tracker to find its position using GPS (or Galileo) signals, and whether it was able to do this at all. With 4 green bars, signal reception was excellent at the time of the track, 3 green bars is good and 2 bars is OK but not great battery consumption wise.
Bad signal, indicated by 1 bar, means that GPS tracking failed and an alternate and less precise location service was used instead. No signal means that the latest tracking attempt failed and no coordinates are available, so the track you are seeing is the latest succesful tracking attempt.
For our Cobblestone and Gemstone weak signal receptions are often caused by too many dense materials too close around the tracker, which is typically due to poor mounting placement or by being indoors or under a roof. If the issue is persistent, the issue is likely mounting placement, but if it is intermittent, the issue is likely moving in and out of buildings. For our Gemstone trackers it is possible to enable indoor tracking if you have premium. To learn more click here.
